Welcome to Girlguiding Leicestershire Welcome to the website of Girlguiding Leicestershire, home to over 7000 girls, 1300 Leaders and even more volunteers, who all enjoy being a part of the UK’s largest voluntary organisation for girls and young women. Rainbows is our section for girls aged five to seven. Rainbows follow a diverse and engaging programme and can take part in lots of different activities with girls their own age. Rainbows is all about developing self-confidence, building friendships, learning new things and having fun. Girls get their hands dirty with arts and crafts, trying out cooking and playing games. . Rainbows can explore their interests and gain all kinds of badges; including, Nature, Book lover, Construction and Family tree. The Rainbow Gold is the top award that Rainbows can gain. Brownies is our section for girls aged seven to ten. Brownies is about getting together regularly - often each week - to work on badges, learn new skills, play games and see friends. It's about trying adventurous activities and going along to special events, day trips, sleepovers, camps and holidays. All Brownies are sure to try new things and take on a broad range of challenges as they explore the topics that sit within our six programme themes - Know Myself, Express Myself, Be Well, Have Adventures, Take Action and Skills For My Future. Interest badges that Brownies can gain include; Grow Your Own, Jobs and Aviation. The Brownie Gold award is the top award that Brownies can gain. Guides is our section for girls aged 10 to 14. Guides challenge themselves and make a difference in their community. By becoming part of a worldwide community of girls who learn together and share skills and experiences, Guides have the chance to get out there and do something really different. Members take part in a wide range of exciting activities at their regular meetings, and at special events or holidays. Girls can get involved in anything from adventure sports to performing arts, travel and taking part in community action projects. Interest badges for Guides include Fixing, Geocaching and Human Rights. The Guide Gold award is the top award that Guides can gain. Rangers is for young women aged 14 to 18. Rangers wear a brand new uniform, meet up regularly, have fun doing activities together and be recognised for their achievements with badges and awards. Whatever you want to do, Rangers offers a range of unique opportunities. In Rangers you'll follow our programme of interest badges, skills builders and awards. You'll take part in amazing challenges, travel the world and develop skills across our six themes. Members of Rangers can choose from a wide range of unique and exciting opportunities, including travel in the UK and around the world, volunteering with younger girls within Girlguiding and working towards valuable qualifications. The Senior Section offers an exciting and flexible programme with a huge variety of challenges and opportunities for personal development Guiding for Young Women 18-30 Whether you’re looking for adventure, to travel the world, build your skills or simply have fun with new friends, there’s a place in Girlguiding for you. There are loads of opportunities for members aged 18 to 30 to choose from. They fit into seven themed pathways. You can follow one particular pathway. Or, because we’re all different, mix and match to create a new path just for you. As well as the seven pathways, you can access learning and achieve awards. And for when you just want to socialise, there's a range of fun opportunities to make new friends and catch up with old ones. Adult Leaders and helpers is for people aged from 18 Girlguiding UK welcomes volunteers of all backgrounds, age groups and abilities. You could choose to volunteer with any of the sections, or you may have a more specialist skill or interest that you would like to share. Helping girls achieve their potential is hugely rewarding. But there are lots of benefits for you too including boosting your CV, training and not to mention building lifelong friendships. However much time you have to give, we’d love to hear from you. The Trefoil Guild is for people aged from 18 Whether you’re involved in guiding or not, Trefoil Guild is a wonderful opportunity to meet like-minded people to share your next adventure - whatever that might be! The Trefoil Guild is a branch of Girlguiding and its members agree to support the guiding ethos - including the pledge to help other people. Many members pass on their skills and knowledge to local guiding units, from helping Brownies work towards a badge to preparing older girls for a camping adventure. Many members are unit Leaders or helpers in Girlguiding units.
